Faces 02:51
Broken binding Photo album Yellow light Faces that I know Past the milk bar On the corner Barefoot summer Faces that I know Distant memories Winding through me Floating down Faces that I know Blinds closed but the light inside is on Blind hope but baby you were gone Now I'm driving alone I'm driving alone Leave this town ringing Every bone aching As I'm leaving faces that I know

Firefly 04:21
Firefly It's gonna take a while It's gonna take a while To ignite me Firefly It's gonna take a while It's gonna take a while To ignite me Catch on fire Wind me up Jack in the box Sometimes I'm going cross eyed I'm going cross eyed Looking forward Sometimes I'm going cross eyed I'm going cross eyed Looking forward Stay in line Straighten ties Ties that bind Kill the sunlight Get it out of my eyes Kill the moonlight Get it out of my mind I find A little quiet time A little quiet time Gonna save me I find A little quiet time A little quiet time Gonna save me Stitch me up Wrap it round All safe and sound

You were miles ahead I was sleeping in my bed Told you, you should go But I told you to go slow Driving in the dark Watching old country go past Feeling far away Between the moon and milky way Cast off your covers Throw back the dawn You'd better run rabbit run Mighty wind through my window It was rattling my bones And up and down the hall I'd forgotten how to talk Treasure I once had Let it slip right through my hand Found it was again Between the covers of my bed Cast off your covers Throw back the dawn You'd better run rabbit run Wandering by the shore Watch the waves roll in once more And roll on out again But clouds they hand around my head Cast off your covers Throw back the dawn You'd better run rabbit run Cast off your covers Throw back the dawn Farewell lost lovers And run rabbit run

Swinging Low 04:15
Dark and quiet corners In the place I saw you last You were talking up the future With your head stuck in your past Now you're swinging low You were listing off your enemies Let them push against your will And I was watching your soul float away And you were talking at me still Now you're swinging low Walk the empty streets at dawn Till your troubles fall away At the bottom there's just broken glass And a struggle to walk away And it's hard to watch an old friend falling Shifting shapes But you'll bend it all until it breaks Staring into spaces And at the centre of it all You've got nothing weighed or measured So it goes before the fall You were swinging low You were chalking up your victories Splashed against the wall Locked in petty misery You were preaching to them all You were swinging low Walk the empty streets at dawn Till your troubles fall away At the bottom there's just broken glass And a struggle to walk away And it's hard to watch an old friend falling Shifting shapes But you'll bend it all until it breaks Don't let them catch you crying From what you've seen Big old storm clouds gather round now And you're at sea Don't let them catch you crying From what you've seen Big old storm clouds gather round now And you're at sea

Rolling hills, rolling with the punches City flats and Sunday lunches Luminal moment in time Was always yours not mine And I'm not hanging around To be one more of your vices Weekend drives, blurry vision Week night fights and television Single moment in time Was always on your mind And I'm not hanging around To be let in Borders were broken as the dark crept in We watched all the blood drain from the sky, you and I And I was half thinking the room was so small and I could see cracks for the first time Faded memories of the city Empty streets once were busy You're on a long dark road To places I don't know Deepest reds are always pretty Fear and freedom Fear and freedom Fearing nothing Fearing nothing Forwards and backwards and blue Forwards and backwards with you

Heel & Toe 04:22
Up and down Dancing round Stake your claim And then take a bow And I'm up and down Waltzing round Stake my claim And then take my bow We'll travel wide Side by side Crossing bridges set on fire And we'll dosey doe We're heel and toe Regret this love if we let it go Just supposing what will be With daylight closing in on you and me It's quiet now Inside and out As we wind our way t'ward the ocean Push that boat out Sail to higher ground We've grown sea legs midst all the commotion

about

Amarillo is the project of Melbourne duo Nick O'Mara and Jac Tonks. Singing songs and playing guitars acoustic and electric, this self-titled 6 track EP is their first offering.

Recorded at Dead on Sound at The Parlor in Preston, once a funeral home now a collaborative space for artists. The pair spent last winter happily locked away in a disused morgue recording their songs with engineer and friend Ryan Granger. The sound they’ve produced is a blend of pop harmonies, soaring lap steel, dark tremolo and slack tuned finger style guitar.
